Late Night Syd Barrett Discussion Room
A haunt for the Syd Barrett obsessed
Posted: Fri Dec 31, 2010 11:03 am Post subject: Major upgrade of the Top Gear version of The Scarecrow
This is from a much longer version of the 'aircheck' recording of the first ever Top Gear that the late Bernie Andrews kept. Significant for us as we now have The Scarecrow in the same quality as the Flaming, Set the Controls and Reaction in G upgrades from a few years back . Reaction in G is actually a few seconds longer than what we had beforeRead more at www.latenightdiscussion.com
Syd's vocals on The Scarecrow really benefit from the inline source, his performance is much more nuanced than the off air source we have been saddled with led us to believe.

The two downloads are the entirity of the Top Gear show of 1st October 1967, so include some other great material, such as a first showing for the Mothers' "Big Leg Emma".
This is way TOO good to miss! I'm copying Dan's email to the LM group including
tracklist and timings... very kind info... so thanks to LM and Dan too!
So good to hear John Peel again, he was on radio as it happens last night....
what a joy to hear and then find this here!
Happy New Year:-)
