JIMMY REED Discography
January 29, 2011 by dajchance
I find it amazing that there isn’t a proper discography for the great Jimmy Reed anywhere on the internet, though Soulful Kind Of Music has put together a nicesingles discography. The albums he made for Vee-Jay and ABC/BluesWay comprise the bulk of his formal recorded output, but there are dozens of compilations and reissues. That there are so many may have something to do with the fact that he basically signed away all rights to his Vee-Jay recordings in 1967 for the lump sum of $10,000. Since there are so many reissues of his various Vee-Jay recordings, I have only listed the original Vee-Jay issue. If you have additional information on any of the releases listed, or if you know of others not on this list, please let me know. Most of the links below lead to various other blog pages. I recommend that you have a good pop-up blocker and anti-virus software installed! Some of the pages have passwords for the downloaded files.
