Dot Vaeth Group - 1978 - Dot Vaeth Group 7''

Now for some original Tarrant County, Texas 1978 punk rock!
The one & only Dot Vaeth Group... The story I heard was that Dot Vaeth was named after one of their teachers at some 70's mid-cities high school. Various DVG members later ended up in The Infants, The Ralphs, Superman's Girlfriend, Graceland & many other bands of the late 70's/early 80's DFW scene. First photo is the front sleeve of the DVG's single, "Armed Robbery" / "White Collar Worker", reportedly recorded in a trailer & the first release on the wonderous ESR label, which later released 1979's ARE WE TOO LATE FOR THE TREND? compilation LP, featuring the aforementioned Infants & Superman's Girlfriend, plus The Nervebreakers (my band), the infamous Vomit Pigs, The Telefones, The Skuds (from Mansfield!) & Control (from Highland Park!!). DVG was James Bryan Nabors on vocals, Pat Conley & David Townsend on guitars, James Flory on bass & Doug Townsend (RIP) on drums.

  1. I recollection was that Dot Vaeth was an art teacher at a school in Daingerfield, east Texas, where Mikey V was from.
